Hacked Database of 750 M Indians for Sale on the Dark Web

A massive database containing the details of around 750 million individuals in India was offered for sale on the dark web. This huge database leak which is 1.8 terabytes in size is believed to contain the information of 85% of the Indian population, was advertised on an underground forum by a threat actor known as CyboDevil for $3,000.

The source of the hack appears to be from the subscriber records of the major telecom providers in India. The database contains personal information such as names, mobile phone numbers, addresses, and Aadhaar card details, which is a unique form of identification given by the Indian government.
