The biggest security breach in France has occurred where over 33 million people - nearly half of its population - have been impacted by a cyberattack.
Two companies - Viamedis and Almerys which are service providers for medical insurance companies -were victims of a cyberattack that occurred five days apart at the beginning of February. The compromised information included details like the person’s marital status, date of birth and social security number, the name of the health insurer and the cover provided by the policy.
In Viamedis’ case, the hackers phished and used health professionals' logins to get into the system. With Almerys the hackers had not breached its central system but had accessed a portal used by health professionals. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
