Change Healthcare, one of the nation's largest health-care technology companies which manages orders and patient payments services for 30,000 pharmacies throughout the U.S., noticed a "cyber security issue" affecting its networks on Wednesday morning on the East Coast.

Once the company became aware of the outside threat, in the interest of protecting their partners and patients, they took immediate action to disconnect their systems to prevent further impact of the cyberattack. Pharmacies across the country reported delays to processing prescription orders due to not being able to process payments for prescriptions through insurance because of this incident.
