Targus, a company which has made laptop cases and bags for more than 40 years operates in 100 countries and produces a variety of tools like docking stations, tablet cases, keyboards as well. B. Riley Financial acquired Targus two years ago for $250 million.
In an SEC filing on Monday evening, Targus International said it discovered that a hacker had gained access to its file systems. In response Targus immediately took proactive containment measures to disrupt the unauthorized access which resulted in a temporary interruption in the business operations of the Targus network.
B. Riley Financial said that no other parts of the company were disrupted by the attack. No hacker group has claimed responsibility for the cyberattack yet. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
