Frontier Communications Shuts Down to Quell Cyberattack
Texas-based Frontier Communications, which provides local residential and business telecom services in 25 states, has shut down its operations in the wake of a cyberattack that resulted in the theft of personally identifiable information.
According to an incident filing with the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), on 4.14.24 Frontier detected a breach by an unauthorized third party. To prevent the rapid spread of the outcome of the data breach, Frontier took a part of the company’s systems offline, which resulted in an operational disruption.
