Municipal Government Hacked in GA

The municipal government in Macon-Bibb County, Georgia, suffered a cyberattack over the weekend. County officials took the government network offline upon discovery of the attack. As of Monday, government offices could still not reliably access their email accounts or landline phones.

Cybersecurity Infrastructure and Security Administration (CISA) advises state and local governments against paying ransom payments, as it does not “ensure data will be decrypted or systems or data will no longer be compromised.” Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
