Dick’s Sporting Goods Notifies SEC of Breach

Dick's Sporting Goods said on Wednesday that an unauthorized third party had access to its information systems, including certain confidential data. While Dick's did admit certain confidential information was accessed, it did not say exactly what it was, nor to whom it belongs. The sporting goods store filed an 8-K form with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), notifying the regulator of a cybersecurity incident.

The sporting goods retailer immediately engaged with its external cybersecurity experts to investigate and contain the threat. The company said it has also notified federal law enforcement. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
