Cyberattack Targets Israeli Texts After Lebanon Pager Blasts
After thousands of pagers and hand-held radios used by members of Hezbollah exploded across Lebanon, on Wednesday night many Israelis received alarming SMS messages urging them to immediately hide in bomb shelters, in what appears to be a cyberattack impersonating the Home Front Command. Israel's Home Front Command is the military body that regularly issues alerts to citizens.
“Say goodbye to your loved ones, but don't worry. You'll hug them in hell in a few hours,” one text read. The message was sent by “SyHaNasrala” in reference to Hezbollah’s leader, who is referred to as Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah. Some of the messages used in incorrect Hebrew and were soon confirmed by the IDF as deceptive. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
