An unauthorized group of people obtained access to Air Canada's internal system, compromising the personal information of an unknown number of employees working for Canada’s largest airline.

In the admittance on Wednesday afternoon, Air Canada remained very reticent about the nature and extent of the data breach. Their spokesperson only mentioned that “certain records” were affected and that it was a “limited” breach, without naming which ones. They did not admit when it happened or when they discovered it.
