Newtwork Outage at Moneris affects Customer Payments across Canada
The payment processing firm Moneris confirmed that it experienced a network outage on Saturday, amid widespread reports of problems with customer payment terminals in several parts of Canada.
Problems were reported in credit and debit payment processing in several parts of Canada, including British Columbia, Winnipeg and Mississauga, Ontario on Saturday. Moneris did not say how widespread the outage was, or what caused it. Moneris' website was also down for a part of Saturday.
Many of their merchants across the country were affected and though they got the network functional around 90 minutes later, Moneris continues to investigate the root cause of the issue. The company claims that it processes payments for more than 325,000 merchant locations in Canada. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
