From 9:50 AM to 5 PM GMT on Monday February 24, 2025, Virgin Media O2 UK service went down, leaving approximately ten thousand customers without internet service, according to Downdetector, a website and app that provides real-time information about the status of websites, services, and apps.
During the outage, Virgin Media said it was "aware that some customers are experiencing intermittent issues with their services" and that it was "working to fix this as a priority.” Subsequently, a Virgin Media O2 UK spokesperson told the BBC "We have now fully restored services for all customers, following an earlier outage.”
Most of the problems were related to landline, internet and TV streaming services, which represents more than 45 million mobile, broadband, home, and phone customers across the UK. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
