Over 700,000 Current and Former Students' Data Leaked

On February 8, 2025, the Chicago Public Schools district discovered that student data had been leaked following a cyber-attack by a Russian hacking group “Cl0p.” The information leaked included current and former students’ names, dates of birth, gender, student identification numbers, Medicaid identification numbers, and dates of eligibility for those enrolled in the federal program. The data breach exposed the information of over 700,000 current and former Chicago Public School students.
