The Canadian National Railway (CN) said that it experienced “an internet connectivity and Electronic Data Interchange issue.” As a result of this outage stemming from the systemwide computer network failure, the GO Transit and VIA Rail trains out of Toronto Union Station were impacted, and also the company’s customer service portal.
Toronto Transit Commission, increased subway, bus, and streetcar services in response to the commuter rail issues. Ride-sharing services were reported to have skyrocketed their prices because of increased demand.
