98% of CISOs Expect a "Significant" Increase in Cyber-Attacks

A staggering 98% of CISOs expect a significant increase in cyberattacks over the next three years, driven by the growing complexity of the digital landscape and the weaponization of AI-powered threats. According to CSC’s new report “CISO Outlook 2025”, the top threats include cybersquatting, DNS hijacking, and DDoS attacks, with concerns around ransomware and AI-generated domain attacks mounting through 2027.

Key findings from the report paint a sobering picture. 87% of CISOs see AI-generated domain generation algorithms (DGAs) as an active threat. 97% are concerned about exposing sensitive data to third-party AI tools. Yet, only 7% feel “very confident” in their defenses against domain-based attacks, and just 22% believe they have the right tools in place.

These gaps in readiness, combined with increasingly automated and sophisticated cyber techniques, leave organizations vulnerable to widespread operational disruption, reputational damage, and regulatory fallout. DNS and domain infrastructure, often overlooked, are now prime targets, with a single compromise capable of crippling everything from websites and portals to email and customer communication systems.

To defend against this rising tide of AI-driven, domain-based threats, organizations must adopt next-generation a cybersecurity solution that unifies operations and defenses. By deploying a single, integrated platform, such as NIKSUN, that secures the entire network, endpoints, services, infrastructure, and domain assets, companies can close critical visibility gaps, optimize performance, and proactively mitigate threats before they escalate. Now is the time to consolidate, modernize, and secure - before attackers take the lead. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
