7 Healthcare Organizations Listed on Ransomware Site

Seven healthcare organizations have recently been listed on ransomware groups’ data leak sites, signaling a wave of cyberattacks across the U.S. healthcare sector. The Everest ransomware group claimed responsibility for attacks on Arlington Occupational Health and Wellness, Avantic Medical Lab, PDI Health, and Balance Diagnostics, with data leaks including electronic medical records, test results, billing information, and sensitive personal identifiers like Social Security numbers.

The Rhysida group added Florida Hand Center to its leak site, threatening to auction stolen data if a ransom isn't paid. Meanwhile, a new group called Payouts King targeted Crenshaw Community Hospital and Gateway Community Services, leaking hundreds of gigabytes of sensitive medical and identity data when ransom demands were unmet. Gateway confirmed 34,498 individuals were affected and has offered credit monitoring.

These incidents underscore the critical importance of robust, unified cybersecurity monitoring across applications, APIs, endpoints, and cloud infrastructure. Healthcare organizations are prime targets due to the value of patient data, and only comprehensive visibility can detect and stop threats before they escalate. A centralized cybersecurity platform allows real-time detection, seamless investigation, and rapid response - vital to prevent operational disruption, protect sensitive data, and maintain patient trust.
