Breach Forces Kansas Courts to Work Offline

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating a security breach that temporarily moved courts across the state back to paper and in-person operations. The courts stayed open, but are operating entirely off paper filings.

Those using the courts' services have been forced to adapt by paying the courts in-person or by mail, as the courts cannot process electronic payments. Those looking to apply for a marriage license must also go in-person, while those waiting for bond refunds or restitution have to wait until systems are back online to receive their payments.
