The Australian telecommunications company Optus has suffered a widespread outage covering Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Tasmania and Adelaide. The blackout is being dubbed as "the biggest outage in Australian history" with 10 million customers impacted by it.
The outage was first reported at 4AM AEDT on Wednesday by Optus mobile users unable to make or receive calls and texts, with the internet network and home broadband also down. Hospitals, ride share taxis, trains, credit card transactions and businesses have been adversely affected because of this widespread outage. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
