Ransomware Attack on Canadian Government Contractors
Two contractors of the Canadian government, namely Brookfield Global Relocation Services (BGRS) and SIRVA Worldwide Relocation & Moving Services which provide relocation services to Canadian government employees, have been hacked.
The government has not divulged the name of the ransomware group, but the LockBit ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for the attack on SIRVA and has already leaked 1.5TB of the stolen data on its Tor leaksite, confirming the failure of a negotiation.
Data belonging to current and former Government of Canada employees, members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police personnel have been also exposed. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
